Place assets on a floor plan

Upload a floor plan to a space and place its assets on it.

A floor plan is an image of a building floor or a hall that belongs to one space. You place the spaces and assets below that space on it. You need to be able to edit the space, and maps must be on for the workspace.

  1. Open Assets and select the space, for example a hall.
  2. In the Map section, select Upload floor plan and choose a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image of up to 20 MB.
  3. Select Edit map. The editor lists the Spaces and Assets below this space. Use the search field to find one.
  4. Choose an item from the list, or drag it onto the plan.
  5. Draw it as a Point (press P) or an Area (press A). For an area, click each corner, then click the first corner or double-click to close it.
  6. Repeat for the next item. Each placement saves as you finish it.

Result: the space shows its floor plan with the items on it. Select a pin or area to open its card; double-click it to open the item.

If an item is already on another map, Machine QR asks before it moves it here. An item has one placement at a time.

To change the plan later, open the Map actions menu:

  • Replace floor plan keeps every item at its position on the image. Check them afterwards if the new image is framed differently.
  • Delete floor plan removes the image and takes every item off it. Only owners and admins can delete a floor plan.
