Logbook and activity

Comments, photos, and files on an asset, and the activity of its changes.

Logbook

The Logbook tab of an asset is its history: what people recorded there and what changed. It shows the newest day first. The asset's work orders are listed above it.

Records from work orders show here too. When a work-order step names this asset, the photos, tasks, and time recorded on that step appear in the asset's logbook, marked with the work order. You change them only in the work order. Use Source to show All, This asset, or Work orders.

Posts

Everything you send at once is one post: a comment with its photos, or a time entry with a note. In the composer you can add:

  • a comment, photos (Take photo), and files
  • from the Add menu: a Task, a Time entry or a timer, a Cost or payment, a Link, or a Voice note

In the composer, type / for the same menu, for example /task or /cost. Press Ctrl+Enter or Cmd+Enter to send.

One send can hold up to 10 files, 10 MB each and 20 MB in total. If a send fails, the draft stays. A retried send is saved once.

The author, owners, and admins can edit a record, for example a comment's text or a file's name. An edited record shows Edited. Deleting a post or a record offers Undo; later, its entry in the activity offers Restore.

Views

The view menu narrows the logbook to one kind of record:

View Shows
All Every post and change
Tasks Tasks, open work first
Time Time entries and the total worked
Finance Costs and payments, with totals
Photos Every photo, by month
Files Every file
Status The asset's status over time, with its availability

Time ranges

Choose All time, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, or Last year. The range applies to the full history, and the totals follow it. Older entries load as you ask for more.

Activity

Changes appear in the logbook among the posts: created, moved, renamed, type or property changed, records edited or deleted. Each change shows who made it, the previous value, and the new value. Spaces and asset types show the same kind of activity on their own page.
