Feed, time, and money
Comments, photos, files, time, money, and links on a work order.
The feed
Below the work document on the Work tab is the work order's feed. It works like an asset's logbook: write a comment, add photos and files, or use the Add menu for a Task, a Time entry, a Cost or payment, a Link, or a Voice note. One send is one post.
While the work order is open, the author, owners, and admins edit, delete, and restore feed records as on assets. Tasks and images inside the document change in the document. See Logbook and activity.
Time and timers
Record time in two ways:
- A Time entry with a duration in hours and minutes.
- A timer. Start it from the Add menu (
/timer), stop it when you are done, and send it. Sending turns it into a time entry.
You have one timer at a time, on one asset or work order. While it runs, the sidebar shows it, so you can return to it from anywhere. To start another, send or discard the first.
Money
A Cost or payment records money Spent on the work or Received for it, such as a paid invoice. It has an amount, a currency, a category (Parts, Service, Travel, or Other), and an optional description. Add the receipt as a photo or file in the same post. The workspace's default currency is set in Workspace settings, General.
Links
A Link points to a web page, such as a supplier manual, with an optional title.
The summary
A summary heads the feed: open tasks, time worked, and money spent and received. The Report tab shows the full result per step: tasks done, inspections, choices, time, costs and payments, and photos. It is marked as in progress until the work order is closed.
Records on steps with an asset
When a record belongs to a step that names an asset, it also shows on that asset: in its logbook, its views, and its totals, for anyone who can open the asset. There it is linked to its work order, and it can be changed only in the work order. Tasks from the document show in the asset's Tasks view, not in its feed.
This way, the time and money spent on a machine add up on the machine, whichever work order they came from.
