Set up a workspace

A workspace holds your team's members, spaces, assets, and settings. This tutorial takes you from a new account to a first printed QR code.

Sign up or sign in

1. Open the sign-in page and enter your work email. Select Continue.
2. If the address is new, Machine QR opens a new workspace for you at once.
3. If the address already has an account, enter your password, or select Send sign-in link and open the link from your email. You can also use Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft.

A new account starts as pending. You can work in the workspace right away, but workspace settings open only after you confirm your email. Open the link in the activation email to confirm it. After activation, you choose your workspace's handle, the @name in every QR link. See Your account.

Open the setup sheet

A new workspace opens with the setup sheet, Welcome to Machine QR. If you closed it, select Setup at the bottom of the sidebar to open it again.

Install a setup pack

1. Select the packs that match your work: Maintenance, Field service, Facility management, Public links, or Help desk.
2. Select Install.

Packs add example spaces, asset types, assets, and inboxes, and turn on the features they need. They never change data you already have. Each pack installs once. To start empty, select Skip setup. Setup packs lists what each pack adds.

Invite members

1. Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar and select Workspace settings.
2. Open Members and select Invite.
3. Enter the person's full name and email, choose a role, and select Invite.

The person gets an email with a link to join. Members and roles explains the roles.

Print your first QR code

1. Open Assets and select an asset, for example one from a setup pack.
2. Select the QR code icon in the asset's toolbar.
3. Select Download SVG and print the file.

Scan the printed code with a phone. It opens the asset's page. Print QR codes has the details.
