At the machine
Scan a code, find documents and earlier work, and record what you did.
This tutorial follows one visit to a machine: you scan its code, look up what you need, and record the work.
Scan the QR code
Scan the code on the machine with your phone's camera. It opens the machine's page at /@handle/IDENTIFIER.
If you are logged in as a member of the workspace, the page shows Open workspace. Select it to open the asset in Machine QR. Visitors without an account see only the asset's name, identifier, type, and type image, and only while public pages are on for the workspace.
Find documents and earlier work
The asset page has two tabs.
- Logbook shows the asset's work orders and every earlier post, newest first by day. Use the views (All, Tasks, Time, Finance, Photos, Files, Status) and the time range to narrow it.
- Documents shows the folders of manuals and drawings for this asset, its type, and its spaces. Select a PDF or image to preview it, or download any file.
To find something on another machine, open search from the sidebar or press /. See Search.
Add a comment, photo, or file
- On the Logbook tab, type in the box Add a note….
- Add photos with Take photo, or open the Add menu for a file, a task, a time entry, a cost or payment, a link, or a voice note.
- Select Send.
Everything you send at once becomes one post in the logbook, with your name and the time. If the send fails, your draft stays so you can try again. See Logbook and activity.
Register an unknown code
A code can carry an identifier that has no asset yet, for example a label printed before the asset was set up.
- Scan the code. The page shows Not registered with the identifier.
- Select Register and confirm.
Machine QR creates the asset with that identifier and opens it. Members can always register. Visitors can register only while the workspace allows it; otherwise they see Sign in. See QR codes and public pages.
